Whitby is a delightful ancient port and has been my home for the past
40 years. It’s a wonderful town, divided into two halves by our
salmon river, the Esk. Rolling moorland, deep valleys and forest
surround the town, spreading out into the North Yorkshire Moors
National Park. High cliffs meet the sea with ragged reefs and
sandy beaches along the coast line offering fabulous walking
opportunities. The town itself offers lots of entertainment
options, with pubs ancient and new, restaurants and cafes to match all
tastes and budgets. Adjacent to the cobbled streets and ancient
buildings, our beaches offer golden sands, sandcastles, rock
bays and fossil hunting.

Warrior is
licensed by the Marine Coastguard Agency for 10 anglers, but 8 anglers
offers maximum comfort and ease of fishing. Our roomy wheelhouse
and galley provide warm drinks, as well as a comfortable seat if the
inclination takes you. Safety features are comprehensive and MCA
regulated for your peace of mind.
Warrior is built by world-famous Mitchels
and has a new 270 horse power turbo charged engine and hydraulic trim
taps, which really cracks along to get us to the best ground or wrecks
for the day, pronto!
We sail most days at 9.30am and return to
harbour at 5.30pm (or later if required) which means you can set off from home refreshed
after a good nights sleep and ready to put in a good day's fishing.
Both departure times and return times can usually be adjusted to suit
your fishing criteria, and extended if you want to stay at sea longer.
Boarding the boat is from
purpose made pontoons for easy access - no ladders to climb!
You must ring the night before
sailing for the weather forecast and sailing confirmation or
cancellation. Ring 01947 605658 between 7pm and 8pm.
Phone unavailable after these times.

Warrior is owned
and skippered by Paul Sykes. Recently retired from commercial net
fishing, Paul is Marine Coastguard qualified and has extensive experience of species which don’t
typically show up in an angler’s catch. If you’re inexperienced at
angling, don’t worry, we’ll soon show you the ropes and even catch
some fish for you if luck is not on your side. |
